The entire town of Hot Springs is now a National Park. We spent several hours walking around, as well as visiting the only bathhouse, Fordyce, now restored and open to the public. We saw how visitors took baths and how invalids were lowered into the baths. There is an old-time elevator to take you to the different floors if you can't climb the stairs.
Back in the day, many famous and wealthy people would come to take the baths, some hoping for a cure for their ailments. Al Capone and his buddies would hold meetings in Hot Springs.
