Vinita, OK - 11/27/07

We stayed at the Walmart in Vinita on the night of 11/27 to break the drive from Branson, MO to Tulsa, OK. If possible, we don't like to drive all day, especially because we don't like to drive during rush hour and then have to back in to our site after dark. Most Walmarts will give you permission to park overnight. They have round-the-clock security, so this is better option than highway rest areas which can be very dangerous.

Three facts about Vinita: it's Dr. Phil's hometown, Route 66 runs through it, and Clanton's Cafe. We found out about Clanton's immediately upon leaving town: it was featured on Food TV's Diners and Dives as a fantastic place to eat! Shucks. Hope we get to drive through there again.
