Tulsa, OK -11/28-11/30/07

Always wanted to go to Tulsa: "Livin' on Tulsa Time" and Gene Pitney's "24 Hours from Tulsaaaaaaa". You hear the names of these cities & towns for most of your life - you know, you just hafta go. It's also the birthplace of Route 66, and is known as the "buckle" in the Bible Belt. http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/williams-don/tulsa-time-10622.html

The highlights of Tulsa are:
----- the beautiful sculptures along the Riverfront Park (enjoyed them)
----- the Oral Roberts University Prayer Tower (didn't bother---saw it from a distance)
----- the Philbrook Museum of Art (spent several enjoyable hours there) which is housed in a lovely Italianate mansion owned by one of the founders of Phillips Petroleum.

Irene also got sick in Tulsa - acute sinusitis (actually, she would later get two relapses). She was livid at the doctor in the urgent care walk-in facility because he made fun of NJ. - Some nerve!
