Loveless Cafe, Nashville

We went to the highly-touted Loveless Cafe & Motel, located in the outskirts of Nashville, at the northern terminus of the Natchez Trace Parkway, which runs from Nashville down to Mobile AL. Their secret-recipe biscuits are so good, that now their is a shop and a mail-order business as well. It was originally known as the Harpeth Valley Tea Room and Lon and Annie Loveless purchased it in 1951, set up picnic tables out front and began serving fried chicken & biscuits from their front door to weary travelers on the Trace.

Martha Stewart is quoted as saying; "It's the best breakfast I ever had." Willard Scott said that the biscuits are "the best scratch-made biscuits in the world". The food really is delicious, and the biscuits were fantastic.
