Arizona is part of the Sonoran Desert. This is not like the Sahara, which is what we tend to think of when we think of a desert - miles & miles of sand and then an oasis, if you're lucky. The desert here in springtime is full of color - cacti bloom with gorgeous flowers, as well as desert flowers.
