Puerto Penasco, a.k.a. Rocky Point, is about 70 miles from the Lukeville, AZ border and about five and one-half hours south of Phoenix. some call it "Arizona's Beach", since, of course, AZ is land-locked. We left Organ Pipe Cactus fairly early, for us!, and sailed through the border crossing. We expected to be stopped, but weren't. What a nice surprise! Naturally, the road signs were all in Spanish, so we had to watch carefully for the signs to Puerto Penasco - the campground gave good directions on their website.
We'd stayed at "The Reef RV Resort" about 10 minutes from downtown. We had originally wanted to stay at "Playa Bonita RV Resort", which we had heard about from Eve & Cameron, the couple we met in Van Horn TX, who gave us lots of info. However, we had difficulty reaching the campground by phone from the U.S. with our Verizon cell phone or email - even our daughter Michele called from NJ and left a message, but they never returned her call. They don't need to return calls - they were packed. Their rates are cheaper than those at The Reef, but their campsites are about half the size! Boy, are we glad we didn't stay there - we would have need a shoehorn to squeeze in.

-----These are are views around our coach, on the days we didn't have neighbors to block our view. No matter what, we could always see the water from our patio, and of course we could always walk the few feet to the beach.
