-----Sedona, AZ - 5/8 to 5/10/08

We had been here briefly over twenty years ago, so we very much looked forward to spending a few days. USA Weekend magazine has voted Sedona the most beautiful city in the country - whether or not you & we agree with them, it's certainly right up there. The combination of the blue sky, the red rock and the green trees is just magnificent.
----- We approached Sedona from the north, leaving Flagstaff (elevation 7200 ft.) and coming into Sedona (elevation 5100 ft.) by driving down through Oak Creek Canyon, which was a very winding road - glad we were doing it in a car rather than in our motor home. As we neared the city itself, we stopped at Slide Rock Park - photos above. Next time around, we'll plan a picnic lunch on the rocks and go in the water.
