The Butchart Gardens, located about 12 miles from Victoria, encom-passes 55 acres and is one of Victoria's more popular garden tour attractions. We took a local bus (so glad we could read the language!) to reach the gardens, which are in Brentwood Bay.
We spent over three hours here - walking the network of paved paths, exploring meadows and gardens of flowers blossoming in reds, blues, pinks, yellows, whites and oranges. The trails lead to ponds and fountains, wooden bridges and rumbling creeks.
