On the road to the Apache Trail, we went to Goldfield, a "refur-bished" and commer-cialized former mining ghost town. Gold was discovered in the area and this was a busy town in the 1890's. It had 3 saloons, the Mammoth Gold Mine, a boarding house, blacksmith shop, meat market, church, brewery, and schoolhouse.
-----Left: Irene standing in front of the Saloon and a saguaro cactus that is probably 250 years old.
-----Right: the building that was once a bordello - the ladies would stand on the upstairs balcony and try to entice customers.
