The reen-
actment is held everyday and in an outdoor
"stage" setting with cement bleachers - that's why the backdrop is fake, just to give the viewer a sense of the scene.
-----Left: Shots are fired. An eye witness says that Marshall Earp said: "Give up your arms or throw up your arms." Frank McLowry (cowboy) and possible Doc Holiday (good guy) started firing, then all started firing.
-----Right: Virgil & Morgan Earp are wounded.
In 30 seconds, three men were dead (both McLowrys and Billy Clanton - Ike Clanton had run away because he was not armed, having had his guns taken earlier in the day by the Marshall), and three men were wounded (Marshall Virgil Earp hit in the knee, Morgan Earp in the shoulder, and Doc Holiday was hit in the scabbard of his pistol, the leather breaking the force of the bullet, so that he was left with a limp). The court decided that Marshall Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holiday were justified in their efforts to disarm the cowboys, as they were trying to keep the peace.
