---We bought one round-trip ticket: Joe took the train from Durango up to Silverton (about four hours) while Irene drove up (about one and one-half hours), on the "half -million dollar highway" - beautiful scenery, but lots of hairpin turns with a sheer drop. We met for a delicious lunch, then Irene rode the train back and Joe drove back to Durango.
