Monument Valley - Utah & Arizona - 6/2 thru 6/4/08



Monument Valley is a Navajo Nation Tribal Park, straddling both Arizona & Utah. It preserves the Navajo way of life and offers some of the most recognizable landscapes of sandstone mesas, buttes and spirals in the entire Southwest.

---Monument Valley scenery has been used for location shots of so many Western movies, including John Wayne's "The Searchers", "Stagecoach", "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon", etc., as well as many, many TV commericials, some of which were set on top of the rocks (especially the automobile commercials).
---Some other movies filmed here are: "Thelma & Louise", "Back to the Future III", "Kit Carson", "Billy the Kid", "How the West Was Won", "The Eiger Sanction".
