Two views of the very well-behaved crowd. We were sorry we couldn't get tickets for the Friday perform-ances, as Ricky Scaggs was appearing. This was our first outdoor music festival - tickets were $60 each.
---We had originally intended to take a ride up to Telluride on Friday to sightsee, not knowing about the festival. Then we found the notice for it in a tourist book we have, so we looked online. No tickets were available for Friday & Saturday, but their website said there was a possibility for Thursday or Sunday. So we got ready as fast as we could, for us, and luckily, we were able to buy same-day tickets. We did miss the first two acts: Darrell Scott and Cadillac Sky.
---We were so unprepared for this type thing!! We didn't bring anything with us except a beach towel and Joe's camera, expecting that we could easily go back to the car for whatever we needed. Hah!! Little did we know the routine.
---After about 15 minutes of trying to make ourselves comfortable sitting on the beach towel on the ground, Joe decided to make the trip back to the car (about one hour roundtrip - see the description of the gondolas above) to get chairs, my hat (it was very hot in the sun), my little umbrella that I keep in the car (further protection from the hot sun), our jackets (for the evening) and some snacks. He's so sweet! And we really enjoyed the food sold at the festival -- American and various ethnic stuff, and very delicious.
