Nestled among the rugged, towering Rocky Mountains, Ouray (pro-nounced by locals as U-ray) has been called the "Switzerland of America". The entire town of Ouray has been designated a National Historic District since 1983 and is also known for its hot springs.
---Upper Left: approaching the town by car. Route 550 goes right through the center of this small town - naturally, in town, it's called Main Street. You have to be careful crossing this street, because tractor-trailers, huge dirt haulers, and all types of delivery trucks constantly drive by.

---Upper Right, Lower Left & Lower Right: more views of Ouray. Its elevation is 7300 ft., with surrounding peaks at over 13000 ft. Today, at least two-thirds of the early Victorian structures are still in use.
