LAKE LOUISE in BANFF NATIONAL PARK, CANADA

Lake Louise is so breathtakingly beautiful, words won't do it justice. The lake water, when it's not frozen over as it was this day, at the end of May!, is a gorgeous green - the color of glacial water. The "diamond-shaped" lake, which is the entire flat plane of snow you see, is nestled at the bottom of huge snow-covered mountains.

The lovely Fairmont Lake Louise Hotel is set at the front of the lake.

As the sun warmed up the water, the lake started to melt and we could see the beautiful green color. If we had visited about two weeks later, we would have been able to see the entire lake green.

A little bit of green water is peeking out from the ice.
