SALT LAKE CITY, UT - 5/12 thru 5/14/09

Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah - left is a downtown view & right is the capitol building. The city is quite nice and very livable and seems to be dominated by the Mormon presence.

Left and right: views inside of "Temple Square, which is a four-block square within the city. We were given a tour by two very devout Mormon young women. They answered just about any question we had about their religion - The Church of Latter Day Saints. The building seen at left is the Tabernacle and the building on the right is the Assembly Hall, built in 1882, where weekly concerts are presented.

We also were given a tour of other buildings by two different men - church Elders, but only Mormons are allowed to enter the "Temple", which is the multi-spired edifice shown in these photos. All tried very hard to get us interested in joining their church. No way!
