Austin, TX - 12/14 to 12/19/07

We stayed at Oak Forest RV Park in Austin, which was fairly convenient to downtown. Austin's music scene is legendary - it's the "Live Music Capital of the World" - and we got lucky. For the two weeks prior to Christmas, at the Austin Convention Center, there is a Christmas Art & Jewelry Christmas Bazaar, called "The Armadillo" with live musical performances.

We went three nights, for a pittance, and saw: Terri Hendrix (a local gal) with Lloyd Maines (father of Natalie of the Dixie Chicks), Cyril Neville (of the Neville brothers) & his band, and Ray Benson and his group, Asleep at the Wheel. Our seats were great, second or third row in a very small area of the bazaar. Wow, they were all fantastic!
-----To the left is Terri Hendrix with Lloyd Maines - even in this blurry photo, you can see the resemblance to his famous daughter. To the right, is Cyril Neville.
