At the Chena Village, as well as when we went to the Large Animal Research Station, we saw reindeer, which are the domesticated version of caribou. Don't know how they manage with those huge paddles next to their noses, between their eyes.

Musk ox are really adorable - their long-haired "skirts" swish back & forth as they walk. There were several females and babies at the research center and it was fun to watch who were the dominant females. They did not display the males, as they were too aggressive for visitors.

In order to entice the musk ox and the reindeer to come close to the fence, the guide put willow branches on the fence - she said that it was like chocolate to humans!

Here's a baby reindeer/caribou.
