We decided to stay at the Arrowhead Point Campground here, because it was central to several towns and attractions we wanted to see: Aspen, Leadville, Twin Lakes, etc. The owners are Cathy and Joe, a very nice and hard-working young couple who have owned the campground for four years. While here, we met Jeff from Chester NJ , who had just retired early and bought property in Breckenridge, CO - he knew our customer, the Chester ShopRite, quite well, so we asked him to say hello to the frozen food manager for us.
---Altitude here at the campground is about 8500 ft. Buena Vista is surrounded by many mountains over 14,000 ft. The "Collegiate Peaks" are nearby: Mt. Princeton, Mt. Yale, Mt. Harvard and Mt. Columbia.
---Above: view from our campsite with the Rockies in the background. We awoke to 53 degrees in the coach here, too. Quickly put on the heater. daytime outside temps were probably only in the high 60's - good touring and hiking weather.
