Estes Park, elevation 7522 ft., is a charming little village and acts as one of the gateways to Rocky Mountain National Park, which is located four miles west. The movie "The Shining" was filmed here at the Stanley Hotel.
We spent a few hours walking around - there's a River Walk area, where we stopped for a cappuccino, and lots of small shops to peruse. We really can't buy much - no place to put it!
