While staying at Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland, we visited Fort Collins, elevation 5003 feet, which is home to Colorado State University. It was recently voted the best place to live by Money Magazine. Irene liked it a lot - it has most of her favorite stores ( Joann's, Michaels, Macy's, great supermarkets, etc.) and a really nice library & a really nice park, both of which we visited.
In addition, it has a very popular downtown - the old buildings have morphed into cute boutiques and restaurants - here are four views of the area. Fort Collins is also home to the Shambhala Mountain Center & The Great Stupa - the most significant example of Buddhist sacred architecture outside of Asia (who knew?).
