-----Custer State Park, SD, continued



---Left: part of the bison herd we discovered by following a tip from the park ranger. ---Right: watching one shuffle and stamp up the dirt so he can make a "nest" in which to lie down. Bison also make a lot of rumbling noises - Irene was afraid they were going to stampede the car!




---Left: one of the really big male bison resting - note all of the hair on his face. These guys can weigh 2000 lbs. and, believe it or not, can run 35 miles and hour!
---Right: two pronghorns without horns - a mama and her babe. Look at those delicate faces - aren't they just gorgeous!
